Curtis is the Co-Founder and CEO of Hydrostor and has led the company through technology development into commercial operations.

Prior to Hydrostor, Curtis held positions at nuclear generator Bruce Power and in Deloitte’s Corporate Strategy Consulting Practice. Curt has led the company through technology development and into commercial operations, with a multi-GW pipeline globally.

Previously, Curtis was a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Corporate Strategy Consulting Practice where he advised and consulted for some of the top energy companies globally. He has also held positions at nuclear/wind generator Bruce Power and wind developer Environmental Electric Company. He has experience working in more than 10 countries, including time volunteering in India. Curtis was a varsity hockey player while earning an Industrial Engineering degree and MBA from the University of Toronto.

Jon is a professional engineer with over 20 years experience in the power industry, management consulting and government.

Jon currently oversees Hydrostor’s strategic growth as President and was previously Chief Operating Officer. Prior to Hydrostor he held senior roles at Brookfield Asset Management, including leading commercial development, regulatory policy and government relations across North America and Europe for the power and utilities business.

In earlier roles he served as project manager for environmental infrastructure and held senior roles in government, where he led grid and networks policy development in Ontario as well as interjurisdictional negotiations. Jon holds an interdisciplinary master’s degree in engineering and economics from the University of Toronto.

Beth has over 32 years of experience in finance and energy.

Prior to joining Hydrostor, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Superior Plus, a distributor of propane, distillates and compressed natural gas, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ontario Power Generation, Ontario’s largest electrical power generator and, prior to that, Chief Financial Officer of Just Energy Group Inc., a leading North American distributor of electricity and natural gas.

Beth also held progressively senior finance roles at Hydro One Inc., including Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. She began her career in the audit practice at Ernst & Young.

Beth is also a member of the Board of Directors of Wajax, a diversified industrial products and services provider and a director of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, the not-for-profit organization tasked with the safe, long-term management of Canada’s used nuclear fuels.

Beth holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. She is a Chartered Accountant and holds an FCPA designation from CPA Ontario.

Jordan is a senior professional with 15 years of experience in the private equity space.

He spent over a decade at Brookfield Asset Management expanding the company’s renewable power, real estate and infrastructure global platforms.

Prior to joining Hydrostor, Jordan was the Chief Investment Officer within Brookfield’s district energy platform, Enwave Energy Group. He has experience in renewables and infrastructure project development, and has been involved in a number of key transactions and financings.

Jordan holds both honors BBA and MBA degrees from the Schulich School of Business at York University.

As Chief Technology Officer, Chris Phebus brings over two decades of engineering and technology expertise to Hydrostor.

Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in driving innovation, implementing efficient processes, and achieving sustainable growth in various industries, including energy, rotating equipment, and oil and gas.

With previous roles at General Electric, Baker Hughes and the Kelly Slater Wave Company, Chris brings extensive industry knowledge to Hydrostor. His experience at General Electric Company, where he led global engineering and technology divisions, further solidifies his position as a strategic visionary and expert team builder, making him an invaluable addition to Hydrostor’s leadership team.

Tom Duckett is Hydrostor’s Chief Development Officer, based in Colorado.

With a diverse background in developing, constructing, and operating complex projects across Canada, the United States, and Germany for the past 25 years, Tom brings a wealth of experience to the company.

As the former President of Development at Renewable Energy Systems Americas (RES), Tom successfully led over 250 projects exceeding 25GW in various technologies, including distributed solar, utility-scale wind, and energy storage.

His extensive knowledge and industry networks will play a crucial role in effectively managing Hydrostor’s projects in the United States, Canada, and Australia.

Tom is also an Advisory Board Member for the Union College Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering.

Sarah brings extensive experience in the development and execution of human resource strategy and in building and leading high-performing teams.

With a focus on business alignment, Sarah is a collaborative leader with extensive experience in the areas of organizational development, culture and engagement, leadership and succession planning, talent acquisition and management, total rewards, employee relations, systems, and human resources data / analytics.


Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree from Western University in Administrative and Commercial studies (major in Human Resources) and also holds a professional HR designation (Certified Human Resources Leader).

Pat is a corporate lawyer with more than 25 years of experience. Prior to joining Hydrostor, Pat was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of JCM Power, a renewable energy independent power producer with operations in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Prior to that, Pat was a senior executive with the Macquarie Group and a partner of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP, one of Canada’s leading law firms. Pat holds a BA (summa cum laude) in Economics from McMaster University and an LLB from the University of Toronto.

Scott Bolton has a diverse background in public policy, commercial and regulatory strategy, and government relations.

Scott was most recently the Senior Vice President of Transmission and Market Development for Berkshire Hathaway Energy subsidiary PacifiCorp, a multi-state electricity provider in the Western US.

While at PacifiCorp he was instrumental in the development of several landmark clean energy and decarbonization policies at the state and federal levels. He has previously worked as a lobbyist and as a staff member for a U.S. Senator on Capitol Hill.

As a seasoned policy and business leader with 30 years at PG&E, Fong played a pivotal role in driving California’s transition towards a decarbonized future and successfully curated a diversified, clean, affordable, and reliable energy portfolio to serve 5 million electric and 4 million natural gas customers.

His staunch advocacy for clean technologies, renewables, and energy storage, enabled him to oversee the launch of over 300 projects and 10,000+ MWs of capacity, resulting in more than 90% greenhouse gas-free energy.

Cam has brought the ideas of Hydrostor to life in the innovative concepts and processes that founded the company.

Cam has a decade and a half in the Oil and Gas equipment manufacturing industry in Alberta, working with start-ups such as Chadco Canada and Delaney Energy. Pairing his conventional energy knowledge with his experience in wind farm development in Ontario, he created the Environmental Electric Company to continually advance renewable technology to best serve the expanding market. Bringing ideas to life has been fundamental throughout his career.

Mr. Miller is a Partner and co-founder of Lorem Partners. He has extensive experience in strategic and corporate finance matters for both privately held and publicly traded entities.

Mr. Miller is chairman of the board of Hydrostor Inc. and JDRF Canada, and a founder and board member of Redress Risk Management Inc. He was a founding director and shareholder of Petro Andina Resources Inc., Parex Resources Inc., and Gravity Renewables, Inc.

Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta, and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. He is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors having completed the Directors Education Program in 2009.

She was also the President and CEO from 2001 to 2006, and Executive Vice President from 2000 to 2001, of PacifiCorp, and has held executive officer positions at the Bonneville Power Administration and Avista Energy. Prior to that, she was a partner in the law firm Gordon Thomas Honeywell.

Ms. Johansen brings a wealth of electric utility industry knowledge and experience to our board of directors, providing valuable industry insight and guidance. She also brings experience from her past and present service on private and public boards, including Roseburg Forest Products, Kaiser Permanente, Gridstor, Pacific Continental Bancorp, Bank of the Cascades, Hood River Distillers, and Alorica.

Mr. Gagnon is a Managing Director within Goldman Sachs Asset Management and serves on the Infrastructure Investment Committee.

He has extensive experience executing and managing investments in energy transition and infrastructure businesses and serves on the boards of Northvolt AB, Lucid Energy II, and Mountaineer NGL Storage in addition to Hydrostor. Sebastien is also a board observer at Redwood Materials.

Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2013, he worked in private equity investing roles at Apax Partners and Global Infrastructure Partners. Mr. Gagnon holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Shirin is a Vice President within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, focused on Energy Transition investment opportunities in the Americas.

He has an extensive experience in evaluating, executing and managing private equity investments across a broad range of sectors. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2014, Mr. Shirin worked in investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in the Financial Sponsors Group. Mr. Shirin holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Duke University.

Mr. Bartlett is a Partner and co-founder of Lorem Partners. He has over 30 years experience as an entrepreneur and manager, venture capital investor and investment banker.

Mr. Bartlett is a director of Hydrostor Inc. and several private companies. He has been involved in the start-up, growth and successful exit of more than a dozen private and public companies in the conventional and renewable energy sectors, including a founding director and shareholder of Petro Andina Resources Inc., Parex Resources Inc., and Gravity Renewables, Inc.

Mr. Bartlett graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree from Queen’s University, and received a Master of Arts degree from the University of Toronto. He served as a Trustee of Queen’s University, and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors having completed the Directors Education Program in 2016.

Tony has spent over four decades in the Australian Energy sector with extensive experience as a senior executive in the NSW Electricity Industry. Tony has proven capacity as a results-driven and highly respected industry leader and held a significant role in the development of the National Electricity Market.

Tony is currently a Director of Values Connection Pty Ltd. Tony previously worked with TransGrid, Pacific Power, and the Electricity Commission of NSW. Prior to joining Values Connection, Tony’s most recent role was Executive Manager Policy & Corporate Affairs with TransGrid and held other roles as Executive Manager Business Growth & Revenue, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer.

Tony made a significant contribution to the development of AEMO’s Integrated System Plan and has advocated for the development of renewable energy zones. He also led the expansion of TransGrid’s unregulated business which achieved 60% growth under his leadership. Tony is a Fellow of CPA Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, University of N.S.W. (Major in Accounting, Finance and Systems)

David J. Hayes is the former Special Assistant to the President for Climate Policy. As a senior member of President Biden’s White House climate team, he helped to develop and implement the administration’s climate and clean energy priorities.

Prior to joining the White House, Hayes was a climate and clean energy advisory on the Biden-Harris Transition Team. He also previously was the co-founder and Executive Director of the State Energy & Environmental Impact Center at the NYU School of Law, where he worked with state attorneys general on climate, environmental and clean energy initiatives.

Hayes previously served as the Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer at the U.S. Department of the Interior for Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton and was a partner and Global Chair of the Environment, Land & Resources Department at the international law firm of Latham & Watkins.

Hayes currently is Lecturer in Law at the Stanford Law School and at Stanford University’s Doerr Sustainability School where he teaches, writes and advises on climate and clean energy matters. He is on the Board of the Coalition for Green Capital, is the former Chairman of the Board of the Environmental Law Institute and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Stanford Law School.

Immediately prior to joining the White House, Hayes was Executive Director of the State Energy & Environmental Impact Center at the NYU School of Law, where he worked with state attorneys general on climate, environmental and clean energy initiatives.

He previously served as Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer at the U.S. Department of the Interior for Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. He was a climate policy advisor for the Biden-Harris Transition in 2020, and led the energy and environmental agency review teams for the Obama-Biden Transition in 2008.

Hayes is a former Distinguished Visiting Lecturer at the Stanford Law School; a former Fellow at Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy and Woods Institute for the Environment; and the former Chairman of the Board of the Environmental Law Institute. Hayes is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Stanford Law School.

Chairman Glick was nominated to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission by President Donald Trump in August 2017 and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on November 2, 2017.

He was subsequently named by President Joe Biden to be Chairman of the Federal Regulatory Commission on January 21, 2021 and served the Commission until June 30, 2022. Before joining the Commission, Chairman Glick held positions on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, serving as a senior policy advisor on numerous issues including electricity and renewable energy, as well as serving as vice president of government affairs for Iberdrola’s renewable energy, electric and gas utility, and natural gas storage businesses in the United States.

Chairman Glick previously served as a director of government affairs for PPM Energy and before that was director of government affairs for PacifiCorp. He served as a senior policy advisor to U.S. Energy Secretary Bill Richardson, and before that was legislative director and chief counsel to U.S. Senator Dale Bumpers of Arkansas. From 1988-1992 Chairman Glick was an associate with the law firm of Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson and Hand.

Rogers Herndon has extensive work experience in various leadership roles in the energy and financial industries.

Rogers currently serves Financial Advisor to the Hydrostor executive team, having previously held the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer at Hydrostor. He was previously Interim CFO at GridStor and also worked as a Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal.

Prior to that, Rogers held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Quintana Energy Services and Chief Investment Officer at Quintana Energy Partners. Rogers also served as an Executive Vice President at RRI/Reliant Energy and Co-Founder and Manager at Phillips Royalty Partners, LP. Rogers has worked as a Managing Director at PSEG and held the role of Managing Director – Global Commodities at Bank of America. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Vice President at Enron North America.

Rogers Herndon completed their Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Washington and Lee University, where they enrolled in 1986 and successfully graduated in 1990. Continuing their education, they pursued a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in Finance from The Wharton School. Rogers attended The Wharton School from 2004 to 2006 and obtained their MBA degree.
